Bronc Ridin' This Weekend
Two bronc riding events are on the schedule for this weekend, March 13 & 14. Check out the Bronc Ridin' Invitational at Moses Lake, WA on Friday evening. It's held at the Grant County Fairgrounds Ardell Pavilion, and starts at 7 pm. General admission is $15.
On Saturday night the Rose Garden Arena in Portland, OR will host a showcase event for the World's Toughest Rodeo National Tour. There will be two parts, the Bulls & Broncs competition followed by the new Toughest Cowboy competition. In the Bulls & Broncs, bareback riders, saddle bronc riders, and bull riders will compete. A top-notch group of saddle bronc riders have entered, including Shawn Morehead (Bruneau, ID), Kayle Gray (Cheney, WA), and Ryan McKenzie (Jordan Valley, OR), who all finished in the top 10 of the Columbia River Circuit standings in 2008, along with Wade Sankey (Cody, WY), another outstanding bronc rider. The Toughest Cowboy competition has eight cowboys each competing in all three events. This is associated with the TV show "The Toughest Cowboy" seen on Spike TV on Wednesdays at 11 pm ET/PT. Wade will be riding in the Bronc Ridin' Invitational at Moses Lake, and in the Bulls & Broncs at Portland, so wish him good luck and safe travel if you see him there! Due to Wade's travel schedule, there won't be a horsemanship event at Kountz Arena this Sunday, March 15th.
